Description.
Ajuy is
honored to be the landing point of the conquerors
of Fuerteventura in 1,402. It is in your beach
where Jean De Bethencourt first set foot on Fuerteventura and
established his camp in Betancuria.
Ajuy Beach is urban, not touristy, black sand and
occupied mostly by people from Fuerteventura.
Like all beaches on the west coast, waves are
strong so be careful when bathing in its waters.
To reach Ajuy, we must take the FV-617, which
leaves Pájara to “La Pared” and Costa Calma ,and
1.5 miles, take the detour to the right that leads
directly to Ajuy (FV-621).
My Opinion:
Interesting beach to
visit and learn, semi urban, in a
picturesque village with a wide range of
restaurants, and Protected Natural Area, and has
the outcrops with the oldest rocks in the Canary
Islands
